d. Scoring at the end of a round
i. Add these points to each team’s score:
1. 500 points for each completed clean canasta
2. 300 points for each completed dirty canasta
3. 1000 points for a wild canasta containing only 2’s OR
1500 points for a wild canasta containing a mix of 2’s and Jokers OR
2000 points for a wild canasta containing all Jokers.
4. 1500 points for each completed set of 7 Red 3’s
a. 100 points each for 1-6 Red 3’s
5. 1500 points for the final player’s 7-card canasta of Black 3’s
6. 100 points each for Black 3 played in addition to a black three canasta by the last player. Black 3’s played by the player going out must be in addition to their 7-card black three canasta and must be at least three or more additional black threes. canasta are not counted individually because 1500 points are given for that canasta. Example: The last player lays down a 7-card black 3 canasta and plays another three black three’s (a total of 10 black 3’s). The score is 1500 for the 7-card canasta + 300 for the three other black 3’s.
7. -100 (minus 100 points) for any black 3 in a player’s hand at the end of the game.
8. The total of 1 through 7 above is called the Base Score.
9. Put all black and red three’s on in the center of the table. They are not counted again.
10. Sum all other cards on the table for each team. Include completed and partial canastas). This is the team’s Card Count.
ii. Subtract the total value of the cards remaining in each player’s hands from the team’s Card Count.
e. The Team Score for the round is the Base Score plus the Card Count.
f. The first team to reach 25,000 points wins the game.
While most of this is correct, the illustration needs some work. Most of the work is minor and involves some cleanup of the card faces. It's on the list.
